Have you read the prequel Pillars of the Earth? It is up there agmsont my favourite books and I recommend it to everyone. Have got World Without End but never had a good chunk of time to read it. After your comments I will make it move up the list pronto. And I wouldn't bother with his others mostly Nazi spy thrillers. Pillars of the Earth was his big departure from that genre.
